Common issues and solutions for MyStudio users.

Login Issues

Can't Log In

Symptoms: Login fails even with correct credentials.

Solutions:

  1. Double-check your email and password for typos
  2. Ensure Caps Lock is off
  3. Try resetting your password using "Forgot password?"
  4. Clear browser cache and cookies
  5. Try a different browser

Password Reset Email Not Received

Symptoms: Requested password reset but no email arrives.

Solutions:

  1. Check your spam/junk folder
  2. Verify you're using the correct email address
  3. Wait 5 minutes and try again
  4. Add noreply@mystd.io to your contacts
  5. Contact support if issues persist

Session Expired

Symptoms: Suddenly logged out or "Session expired" message.

Solutions:

  1. Log in again - this is normal after inactivity
  2. Keep the tab active if working on something important
  3. Check your internet connection

Video Playback Issues

Video Not Loading

Symptoms: Video player shows loading spinner indefinitely.

Solutions:

  1. Refresh the page
  2. Check your internet connection
  3. Try a different browser (Chrome recommended)
  4. Disable browser extensions that might block video
  5. Clear browser cache

Video Plays But No Sound

Symptoms: Video plays but audio is silent.

Solutions:

  1. Check that the video is unmuted (click speaker icon)
  2. Check your computer's volume settings
  3. Try a different browser
  4. Some videos may not have audio

Can't See Video Controls

Symptoms: Play/pause and other controls are missing.

Solutions:

  1. Move your mouse over the video player
  2. Click on the video to show controls
  3. Refresh the page
  4. Try a different browser

Comment & Review Issues

Can't Add Comments

Symptoms: Comment button doesn't work or comments don't save.

Solutions:

  1. Make sure you've selected a timestamp by clicking on the video timeline
  2. Check your internet connection
  3. Refresh the page
  4. Ensure you have permission to comment (ask your admin)

Comments Not Appearing

Symptoms: Added a comment but it doesn't show up.

Solutions:

  1. Refresh the page
  2. Check if you're viewing the correct video version
  3. Check if filter settings are hiding your comments
  4. Try logging out and back in

Can't Approve Video

Symptoms: Approval button is missing or disabled.

Solutions:

  1. Verify you have approval permissions for this project
  2. Check if the video is still processing
  3. Refresh the page
  4. Contact your project manager

File Upload Issues

Upload Fails

Symptoms: File upload fails or gets stuck at a percentage.

Solutions:

  1. Check file size limits (varies by subscription tier)
  2. Check file type is supported
  3. Ensure stable internet connection
  4. Try a smaller file to test
  5. Refresh and try again

Upload Stuck at 100%

Symptoms: Progress bar reaches 100% but never completes.

Solutions:

  1. Wait a few more minutes - large files take time to process
  2. Don't close the browser tab
  3. Check for malware scanning delay (all files are scanned)
  4. If it takes more than 10 minutes, refresh and try again

Page Loading Issues

Page Won't Load

Symptoms: Blank page, infinite loading, or error message.

Solutions:

  1. Refresh the page
  2. Check your internet connection
  3. Clear browser cache
  4. Try incognito/private browsing mode
  5. Check if the service is down (status.mystd.io)

Slow Performance

Symptoms: Pages take a long time to load.

Solutions:

  1. Check your internet speed
  2. Close unnecessary browser tabs
  3. Clear browser cache
  4. Disable browser extensions
  5. Try a wired connection instead of WiFi

"Something Went Wrong" Error

Symptoms: Generic error message appears.

Solutions:

  1. Refresh the page
  2. Log out and log back in
  3. Clear browser cache
  4. Try a different browser
  5. If persistent, contact support with the error details

Notification Issues

Not Receiving Email Notifications

Symptoms: Expected emails not arriving.

Solutions:

  1. Check spam/junk folder
  2. Verify notification settings in Settings > Notifications
  3. Ensure your email address is correct
  4. Add noreply@mystd.io to your contacts
  5. Check with IT if emails are being blocked

Too Many Notifications

Symptoms: Receiving more emails than expected.

Solutions:

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications
  2. Adjust your notification preferences
  3. Disable notifications for specific activity types
  4. Enable digest mode for batched notifications

Permission Issues

"Access Denied" Message

Symptoms: Can't access a page or feature.

Solutions:

  1. Verify you're logged in with the correct account
  2. Check with your admin about your role permissions
  3. Some features require specific subscription tiers
  4. Contact your project manager if access was recently changed

Can't See Projects

Symptoms: Dashboard shows no projects or fewer than expected.

Solutions:

  1. Check if you're logged into the correct account
  2. Ask if you've been added to the project
  3. Check with your company admin about permissions
  4. Refresh the page

Missing Menu Items

Symptoms: Sidebar is missing expected options.

Solutions:

  1. Different roles see different menu items - this is by design
  2. Ask your admin about your assigned role
  3. Upgrade your subscription for additional features
  4. Some items appear only when applicable (e.g., "Projects" requires at least one project)

Browser Settings to Check

  1. JavaScript - Must be enabled
  2. Cookies - Must be enabled for mystd.io
  3. Pop-ups - Allow pop-ups from mystd.io
  4. Extensions - Disable ad blockers for mystd.io

Mobile Issues

Site Not Working on Mobile

Symptoms: Layout issues or features not working on phone/tablet.

Solutions:

  1. Use landscape mode for better experience
  2. Try requesting desktop site in browser menu
  3. Ensure your mobile browser is up to date
  4. For best experience, use desktop/laptop
